  • Boosting Gulf Sovereignty: Ukraine Exports “War Expertise” to the Middle East

Kyiv – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed the signing of a strategic “Drone Agreement” with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. The agreement aims to transfer advanced Ukrainian technology in drone production and air defense systems to these nations. Accordingly, Ukraine-Gulf military cooperation 2026 represents a qualitative shift in the balance of power, as regional countries seek to diversify their defensive arsenals with innovative solutions to counter “suicide drone” threats targeting energy infrastructure.

Changing the Game: A $10,000 Missile to Down “Shahed” Drones

Zelensky clarified that Ukrainian field experience proved that exhausting air defenses with multi-million dollar missiles is no longer logical. The new strategy will rely on interceptor missiles costing only $10,000 to confront “Shahed” drones, which cost up to $130,000. Obviously, this “economic logic” prompted Gulf capitals to strengthen their partnership with Kyiv, ensuring the protection of vital facilities with maximum efficiency at the lowest possible cost.

Boosting Gulf Sovereignty: Ukraine Exports “War Expertise” to the Middle East

Observers believe this cooperation grants Gulf states sovereign defensive capabilities independent of costly traditional systems. Certainly, the Ukrainian offer provides a technical solution to cross-border threats posed by regional factions and militias. Accordingly, Ukraine-Gulf military cooperation 2026 stands as a major event in the global arms market, as Ukraine transitions from a support recipient to a primary exporter of “drone warfare” technology, reshaping regional security concepts
