Tel Aviv, Israel – Amid escalating Israeli rhetoric toward Iran, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned against Tehran acquiring a nuclear weapon.
He asserted that this would pose a direct threat to Israel’s security and the stability of the entire region.
Netanyahu emphasized that Israel views the Iranian nuclear program
as a “long-term strategic threat,” not merely a political or negotiating dispute.
He further indicated that any progress on this issue would fundamentally alter the balance of power in the Middle East.
Serious regional consequences
He added that Tel Aviv is closely monitoring Iranian activities related to enrichment and military development.
He warned that acquiring nuclear weapons capabilities would lead to what he described
as “serious regional consequences.” Furthermore, there is a possibility of an arms race erupting in the region.
These statements come amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran and ongoing international debate about the future of the nuclear agreement.
At the same time, concerns are growing about a potential explosion of violence in several regional arenas linked to this issue.
