Kuwait: The Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, discussed with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham,
during a phone call, the latest developments in the regional and international situation,
and ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two countries, in addition to a number of issues of common interest.
Supporting initiatives to enhance security and stability
The call addressed developments in the Middle East and efforts to contain tensions and enhance security and stability.
Both sides emphasized the importance of prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions to address crises,
thereby contributing to peace and stability at both the regional and international levels.
Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah affirmed Kuwait’s commitmen
to supporting all initiatives aimed at strengthening security and stability, stressing the importance of dialogue and adherence
to international law in resolving disputes, in a manner that safeguards the region’s security and the interests of its people.
Consultations on regional issues
For his part, Andy Burnham affirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to continued coordination and consultation with the State of Kuwait,
praising the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries and emphasizing the importance of
enhancing cooperation across various fields, in addition to ongoing consultations on regional and international issues.
Both sides stressed the importance of continued communication and coordination in the coming period,
and of supporting international efforts aimed at de-escalation and promoting peace and stability in the region.
