Defense confirms extinguishing fires at government and oil facilities after drone attacks

Kuwait, Kuwait — The Kuwait Ministry of Defense announced that it dealt with 9 ballistic missiles and 31 drones over the past 24 hours, amid a security escalation in the country. The Ministry confirmed the success of its defense systems in intercepting threats. Moreover, it said the systems minimized their impact.

The Kuwait Ministry of Defense stated in an official statement that the attacks targeted vital locations, including the ministries complex and oil sector facilities. It also noted that the rapid response helped reduce losses. Furthermore, it ensured the safety of personnel at those sites.

Interception of Missiles and Drones

The Kuwait Ministry of Defense confirmed that air defense systems efficiently handled the ballistic missiles and drones. They intercepted and neutralized them before reaching their targets. This reflects the armed forces’ readiness and capability to counter threats.

Extinguishing Fires at Key Sites

It added that firefighting teams managed to extinguish two fires that broke out at the ministries complex and an oil sector site due to drone strikes. No human casualties were reported. Meanwhile, securing and cooling operations continue at the affected locations.

Ongoing Monitoring and Assessment

The Kuwait Ministry of Defense stressed that relevant authorities continue to closely monitor developments and take necessary measures to strengthen defense and protection systems. These efforts continue amid current security challenges.

The Kuwait Ministry of Defense concluded its statement by reaffirming the readiness of its forces to deal with any threats. It also urged the public to exercise caution. In addition, it advised people to adhere to official instructions to ensure public safety.
