Manama, Bahrain – The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force announced in an official military statement the success of its air defense systems in repelling successive waves of Iranian “terrorist and criminal” attacks targeting the security and stability of the Kingdom. The Command also revealed the results of defensive operations since the start of the brutal aggression, confirming the destruction of hundreds of hostile targets in the country’s airspace.
Operational efficiency and heavy toll
According to a statement issued today, the Bahrain Defence Force, thanks to its advanced combat readiness and high vigilance, successfully intercepted and destroyed 188 ballistic missiles and 453 suicide drones. These drones were targeting civilian infrastructure and private property across the Kingdom.
The General Command expressed its pride in the continued operational efficiency demonstrated in protecting Bahrain’s airspace. It also affirmed that this commendable performance instills confidence in the armed forces’ ability to deter any threat.
Security warnings for citizens
As military operations continue, the General Command urges all citizens and residents to exercise the utmost caution to ensure their safety.
It emphasizes adherence to the following instructions: Stay completely away from damaged sites or any suspicious objects that may fall as a result of the operations. It also stresses the absolute prohibition of photographing military operations or debris sites. Furthermore, it advises against spreading rumors and urges obtaining information only from official sources. Finally, it requests that everyone follow the alerts and warnings issued through government media outlets.
A blatant violation of international law
The General Command stated that the deliberate use of ballistic missiles and drones to target civilians and civilian infrastructure constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the UN Charter.
The statement warned that these indiscriminate and heinous attacks target not only Bahrain but also pose a direct threat to regional peace and security. The Command emphasized that the Kingdom’s airspace will remain protected, by the grace of God and the vigilance of the air defense personnel who are writing the most magnificent chapters of sacrifice in defense of the homeland and its resources.
