Abu Dhabi, UAE – Dhiyab Al Muhairi, player of the Abu Dhabi Modern Sailing Team and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club Academy, won third place in the junior sailing boat “Optimist” category. As part of the 2026 Oman Sailing Championship, held in Ras Al Hadd, Tyre. With the participation of more than 64 sailors from the Sultanate of Oman, the Emirates and Sri Lanka.
Al-Mahri performed exceptionally well during the tournament. He was able to deal with the challenges associated with the weather and sea conditions that accompanied the competitions. He concluded his participation by climbing to the podium and achieving third place in the category.
The participation of the Abu Dhabi Modern Sailing Team was not limited to competing for advanced positions. The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club Academy was keen to provide a number of its new players with the opportunity to have their first competitive experiences abroad. Through the participation of Ali Al Rumaithi, Ali Ibrahim, Hazza Ibrahim, and Noah Al Balushi in the “Optimist category.
The four players succeeded in completing the tournament despite the difficult sea conditions. In a move that reflects the importance of the Academy’s training program aimed at developing promising talents. Raising its technical and physical levels, and enhancing its expertise by participating in external tournaments.
The participation of the Abu Dhabi Modern Sailing Team comes within the strategy of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club and its academy aimed at expanding the base of modern sailing practice. Discovering and refining talents, and building a gradual path for players starting from the training and qualification stages all the way to local and international competitions.
