London, England – The ancient Newbury Racecourse in the United Kingdom will host the UAE President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses on Friday. Within the agenda of the thirty-third edition.

The Cup Racing Series is held in support of plans to develop the Arab horse racing industry. And continue to support owners and breeders around the world, and encourage them to acquire and raise Arabian horses. In a way that contributes to preserving his authentic legacy, raising his status, and enhancing his presence in the most important international festivals and tracks.

special significance

The UK station is of particular importance on the current edition’s agenda, with the Cup race being held for the first time at the historic Newbury Racecourse. Founded in 1905, it joins the list of the world’s most prominent tracks hosting the series’ races. Along with Long Champ, Churchill Downs, Dexter and San Siro. Reflecting the prestigious position achieved by the precious cup, and embodying the success of its partnerships with the most important international tracks and festivals.

The race will start over a distance of 1,600 meters on grass, for three-year-old purebred Arabian horses, “Group 3”. It witnesses the participation of an elite group of the most powerful and promising horses representing the most prominent owners and cleavers, and its prizes are 150 thousand pounds sterling.

Distinctive British presence

The list of participants is led by the foal “Nimo de Carrier”, descended from (AF Al-Bahr × Panetta de Carrier bint Tijani), owned by Sheikh Khalaf Rabah Al-Shammari. Under the supervision of coach Xavier Thomas Demault and led by jockey Guillaume Gidge-Ghe. Along with “Amir Athba” (Assaf Al-Khalidiya × Jazma Athba), who returns to Athba Stables. Supervised by trainer Philip Collington and led by jockey Ekim Jean Bernard.

The list also includes “El Gas de Pin” (Montaser El Khalidiya × Degaiza de Pin bint Dorman), owned by Sheikh Hamed bin Khadem bin Butti Al Hamed. Supervised by trainer Elisabeth Bernard Jean-François and led by jockey Antoine Werley. And “Laila de la Glowar” (The Murjaz × Laila Nadia Al-Badr), by owner Muhammad Al-Hazami. Supervised by trainer Elizabeth Bernard and led by jockey Michael Forrest. Along with R.B. Trieste (Majd Al Arab × Rich Friend), who returned to K.S. Racing. Supervised by trainer Philip Collington and led by jockey Shawn Levy.

The Newbury race represents the first of the two UK stations on the agenda of the 33rd edition. Dexter Racecourse will host the second stop on September 12 as part of the historic St. Leger Festival. With a distinguished British presence that embodies the global status of the event, and the keenness to enhance the presence of purebred Arabian horses on the most important European tracks.
