Abu Dhabi, UAE – Abu Dhabi National Energy Company S.A. announced.M.”energy” presented its financial results for the six-month period ending June 30, 2026.

Taqa recorded revenues amounting to 27.5 billion dirhams. While profitability increased as a result of higher returns specifically in both Taqa Transmission Networks and the electricity generation and water desalination business sector.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization increased by 7.7% to reach 11 billion dirhams. Compared to 10.2 billion dirhams during the first half of 2025.

Net income attributable to the company’s shareholders increased by 9.7% to AED 4.1 billion. Compared to 3.7 billion dirhams during the same period last year.

Capital spending rose to AED 7.2 billion, up 38% year-on-year. This reflects the acceleration of investments in the electricity, water, and transportation networks sectors.

Free cash flows amounted to 4.6 billion dirhams, compared to 7 billion dirhams during the same period last year, and this is mainly due to the increase in investments.

During the first half of 2026, Taqa continued to make progress on a number of strategic partnerships and infrastructure projects in the electricity and water sectors in the UAE.

Emirates Water and Electricity Company has awarded the “Al Tawila C” independent power generation station project with a capacity of 2.6 gigawatts to a coalition of companies it leads (with a 60% stake) to enhance the stability of the electricity grid in Abu Dhabi. Enabling the integration of electrical energy generated from renewable energy sources on a large scale within the emirate’s electricity system until 2050.

She and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) also signed a 27-year utility purchase agreement to provide basic services to the Reinforcement Industrial Chemicals Area in Ruwais. This enhances the role of “Taqa” in supporting industrial growth in Abu Dhabi through a reliable and efficient infrastructure for the utilities sector.

Issuance of green bonds

Taqa Water Solutions, along with Etihad Water and Electricity Company and Sur International, signed a long-term agreement with the Ras Al Khaimah government to develop the largest wastewater treatment plant in Abu Dhabi with a capacity of 60,000 cubic meters per day. To serve up to 300,000 people.

Taqa, along with Emirates Water and Electricity Company, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), EDF Power Solutions, and Genco Power, also completed the issuance of green bonds worth US$870.75 million (approximately AED 3.2 billion). To refinance the independent Al Dhafra solar photovoltaic power plant. To support sustainable financing efforts and growth in the renewable energy portfolio.
