Kuwait, Kuwait – The Asian Handball Federation announced the schedule and dates of the Asian Championship matches scheduled to be held in Kuwait from June 6 to 15.
The UAE is represented in the tournament by Sharjah, the defending champion. He is scheduled to open his campaign in the first group competitions by meeting Al-Duhail of Qatar in the preliminary round on Saturday, June 6. Then he will meet the Chinese team (CHA) on Sunday, June 7. Before concluding the group stage by facing Burgan of Kuwait on Tuesday, June 9.
The tournament is held in a single-round league system in the group stage. All teams qualify for the quarter-finals according to the preliminary stage standings. The leader of the first group will meet the fourth in the second group, and the second-place team will meet the third in the second group. He is third in the first group with the runner-up of the second group, and fourth in the first group with the leader of the second group. To determine the teams that qualify for the semi-finals and the final match, while the remaining teams will play position-setting matches.
The draw resulted in Kuwait SC, the tournament host, being in Group 2 alongside Bahrain’s Al-Najma SC, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Khaleej SC, and Qatar’s Al-Arabi SC.
The Asian Championship champion qualifies directly to participate in the Super Globe Club World Championship. Scheduled in Egypt during the current year.
