Beirut, Lebanon – The Lebanese Prime Minister affirmed that the state remains steadfast in its position of restricting weapons to legitimate institutions without exception. He emphasized that this principle is fundamental to restoring internal stability and strengthening state sovereignty over all its territory.

He explained that the government views negotiation as a practical and necessary path to ending the state of war and ongoing tensions. He also stressed that negotiation is essential to halting the escalation, which is negatively impacting the economic and humanitarian situation in the country.

He indicated that the current phase requires unifying political and diplomatic efforts to support the path of peaceful solutions. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to prevent Lebanon from sliding further into confrontations, while affirming that the state will continue to fulfill its responsibilities in protecting national security.
