Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Southern Transitional Council (STC) strongly condemned the attack targeting the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the United Arab Emirates. It also affirmed its full solidarity with Abu Dhabi in the face of this aggression.

In an official statement, the STC confirmed that the UAE Armed Forces successfully repelled the attack.

This action prevented a potential catastrophe that could have caused significant harm to people and the environment in the region.

Targeting civilian and development facilities

The Council statement indicated that the attempt to target the first Arab nuclear power plant reflects,

as it described it, a direct attack on the UAE’s development model.

This model has achieved significant successes in infrastructure, technology, and energy.

It added that this model has garnered attention and praise from many nations around the world,

as it is considered a “successful and unique” development experience in the region.

Sharp political criticism

The council statement included sharp political criticism of those it described as being behind the attacks.

It asserted that these entities were targeting the UAE because of its distinct development model in the region.

The statement also linked these developments to what it termed “regional policies that lead to recurring crises.”

Furthermore, it emphasized that targeting vital infrastructure reflects the serious threat this escalation poses to regional security and stability.

Praise for the UAE’s military role

The Council commended the efficiency of the UAE Armed Forces in dealing with aerial threats and protecting vital installations.

It also affirmed that the UAE military’s performance reflects an advanced level of readiness and professionalism.

The statement emphasized its full support for the UAE in confronting any threats.

It also expressed confidence in the UAE leadership’s ability to overcome challenges,

explaining that the leadership can transform challenges into opportunities to enhance development and stability.

The statement concluded by affirming its absolute solidarity with the UAE.

It also stressed the importance of protecting its developmental achievements and ensuring the continuation of its progress and prosperity.
