Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Wasl achieved a hard-fought 2-1 victory over their guest Kalba, in the match that brought them together at Zabeel Stadium as part of the final round of the ADNOC Pro League.
Al Wasl raised its tally to 48 points to finish the season in third place, while Kalba’s tally remained frozen at 24 points in eleventh place.
The match started quickly on the home side, with Al Wasl taking an early lead in the tenth minute with an own goal, following a joint error between Kalba defender Maxso and the goalkeeper.
Kalba responded quickly with an equalizer in the 20th minute through Leandro Leite, after he took advantage of a perfect ground cross from Carlos Filho and put the ball into the net with a direct shot.
Al Wasl imposed their superiority on the course of the first half through ball possession, but the positive 1-1 draw remained until the end of the first half of the match.

In the second half, Al Wasl continued their attacking pressure in search of a winning goal, until substitute Miguel Borja succeeded in deciding the match in the 79th minute, after he met a distinguished cross from Brian Palacios with a powerful header that settled in the net, giving his team the victory at the end of their league campaign.
