London, United Kingdom – Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with David Lammy, UK Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice,

to discuss regional developments and the repercussions of the Iranian attacks targeting civilian sites and facilities within the UAE using missiles and drones.

The meeting took place during Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed’s working visit to London,

where the two sides discussed the latest security developments in the region,

as well as ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination in addressing current challenges.

During the meeting, David Lammy affirmed the United Kingdom’s solidarity with the UAE,

reiterating his country’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks,

which he described as a clear violation of the principles of international law and the UN Charter,

and a direct threat to the security, stability, and territorial integrity of the UAE.

Discussing the repercussions of regional escalation

For his part, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed his appreciation for the UK’s supportive stance towards the UAE,

affirming the safety of all residents and visitors within the country, despite the recent security tensions in the region.

The two sides also discussed the serious repercussions of these attacks on regional and international peace and security,

particularly concerning the security of international maritime navigation, global energy supplies, and their impact on the global economy.

The UAE Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening

international cooperation to protect maritime routes and ensure the freedom of global trade,

and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors to serve

the mutual interests of both countries and bolster their economic prosperity.

The two sides also discussed the importance of intensifying international efforts to achieve lasting peace

and stability in the region and to fulfill the aspirations of its people for development and prosperity.

The meeting was attended by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri,

Minister of State, and Mansoor Abulhoul, UAE Ambassador to the UK.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed’s visit comes at a time of escalating tensions in the region stemming
