Dubai, UAE – The Emirates Pharmaceutical Foundation announced the approval of the drug “Lipfendra” (Lipfendra), intended for the treatment of adults with high levels of harmful cholesterol. Including some genetic conditions, as part of a treatment plan determined by a specialist doctor.

Thus, the UAE became the second country in the world to adopt this treatment. Reflecting the efficiency of the national regulatory system and keeping pace with its drive to accelerate the delivery of pharmaceutical innovations to patients.

Lipfendra is an oral medication taken once daily, and along with a balanced diet and physical activity, it helps lower harmful cholesterol (LDL-C) levels. Which is one of the most prominent risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease.

The need to evaluate health status

The drug expands the treatment options available to adults whose conditions require additional measures in addition to following a healthy lifestyle. In line with scientific evidence-based medical practices, and supports improving the quality of pharmaceutical care.

The Emirates Pharmaceutical Foundation called on community members, especially those with high cholesterol, to adhere to a healthy lifestyle that includes balanced nutrition and regular physical activity. In addition to consulting a specialist doctor to evaluate the health condition and choose the appropriate treatment. Which contributes to reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and maintaining general health.
