Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE Kickboxing Championship for Youth kicked off on Friday at Mubadala Dome at Al Jazira Club. With the participation of 607 male and female players representing 51 clubs, competing in 96 categories, in 4 different styles of kickboxing.
The events organized by the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation continue on their closing day, Sunday. With the participation of 40 male and female players with disabilities, in cooperation with the UAE Special Olympics.
Fahd Al Abdouli, Director of the Sports Activities Department at the Federation, said that the large participation of male and female players, clubs and weight categories confirms the continuous growth witnessed by kickboxing in the Emirates. The Federation was keen to provide a competitive environment that would contribute to refining their skills.
He added that the presence of 40 male and female players with disabilities on the closing day is an important milestone that consolidates the Federation’s commitment to consolidating the values of inclusion and diversity. Supporting joint cooperation programmes with the UAE Special Olympics. Which enhances the presence of kickboxing as a sport that brings everyone together in a competitive and community atmosphere.
