Cairo, Egypt – Egypt strongly condemned the targeting of a UAE-flagged commercial tanker as it transited the Strait of Hormuz.

It described the incident as a blatant and unacceptable attack and a clear violation of international law.

Egypt’s firm rejection

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an official statement,

strongly condemned any acts targeting civilian vessels or obstructing navigation in vital waterways.

It emphasized that such practices constitute a violation of international norms

that guarantee the freedom and smooth flow of global trade.

Warning of serious repercussions

Cairo warned that targeting commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz poses

a direct threat to the security and stability of the region.

Furthermore, it has negative repercussions for global energy security and international trade,

necessitating a firm international stance to halt these violations.

Full solidarity with the UAE

Egypt announced its full solidarity with the UAE, affirming its support

for all measures taken by Abu Dhabi to protect its security and national interests.

The statement emphasized that the security of the UAE is an integral part of Egyptian national security.
