سانيا، الصين – تشارك دولة الإمارات، في النسخة السادسة من دورة الألعاب الآسيوية الشاطئية. التي تستضيفها مدينة سانيا الصينية خلال الفترة من 22 إلى 30 أبريل الجاري. بوفد يضم 31 رياضياً ورياضية يتنافسون في أربع رياضات هي الجوجيتسو، والشراع، وكرة القدم الشاطئية، والسباحة في المياه المفتوحة.
وتستضيف الصين دورة الألعاب الآسيوية الشاطئية للمرة الثانية بعد نسخة هايانغ عام 2012. حيث تشهد النسخة السادسة مشاركة 1790 رياضياً ورياضية يمثلون 45 لجنة أولمبية آسيوية. يتنافسون في 14 لعبة رياضية و15 تخصصاً و61 منافسة. فيما تقام مراسم الافتتاح والختام في “مسرح الحلقة” بحديقة الألعاب الآسيوية الشاطئية بمنطقة “تيانيا هايجياو”.
The vanguard of the UAE Olympic Committee delegation arrived in Saanya last Wednesday evening to review the arrangements for receiving the sports delegation. Which begins its participation through the beach soccer team in the second group competitions, alongside the teams of Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Iran.
The first participating national team, the Jiu-Jitsu team, will arrive on Saturday. The Al-Sheraa and beach soccer teams will arrive on Sunday. The rest of the delegation will arrive with the arrival of the open water swimming team next Monday.
The UAE has won 28 colourful medals in all its participations in the Asian Beach Games since the Bali 2008 edition, including 11 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze medals. The 2014 Phuket edition is the best, with 12 medals won. While the 2016 Danang edition witnessed the crowning of Wadeema Al Yafei, a player on the Jiu-Jitsu team, with the bronze medal, becoming the first Emirati girl to reach the podium in the history of the tournament.
The Asian Beach Games were launched in 2008 in Bali, Indonesia. Then Muscat 2010, Haiyang, China 2012, Phuket, Thailand 2014, and Danang, Vietnam 2016. Up to the upcoming sixth edition in Sanya, China.
