Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The UAE Joint Operations Command announced on Tuesday the arrival of a new humanitarian aid plane to Afghanistan.
This brings the total number of UAE aid planes since the beginning of the crisis to 9 planes loaded with urgent relief supplies.
This comes in implementation of the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
The air and sea bridge included relief from the UAE. It supports Afghanistan in dealing with the repercussions of the earthquake. The UAE stands by the Afghan people in these difficult circumstances.
Issa Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Afghanistan, met at Kabul International Airport with Mawlawi Sharafuddin Muslim. He is the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Village Reconstruction and Development for Planning and Policy Affairs. Additionally, he is the Chairman of the Aid Delivery and Management Committee in Afghanistan.
This is within the framework of strengthening the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to support our brothers in Afghanistan.
During the meeting, the latest developments related to the repercussions of the earthquake were reviewed.
The Ambassador affirmed the UAE’s commitment to standing by the friendly Afghan people to overcome these difficult humanitarian circumstances.
Al Dhaheri said that the UAE will continue to provide humanitarian and shelter aid via an air and sea bridge.
He pointed to efforts to provide aid from the local market. This ensures its rapid arrival and helps cover the urgent needs of those affected.
