Baghdad, Iraq – An Iraqi official confirmed that American companies are preparing to expand their investments and presence in Iraq following the departure of the last US troops. He explained that the next phase will focus on strengthening economic and investment cooperation rather than a military presence.
The official clarified that Baghdad is working to attract more American companies to participate in vital projects. These projects include the energy, infrastructure, technology, and services sectors. This comes within the framework of the government’s plans to diversify the economy, create jobs, and support development.
He added that the end of the US military presence does not signify a decline in relations between the two countries. Rather, it represents a shift towards a partnership based on economic and trade cooperation and the transfer of expertise, which will enhance the interests of both sides and support Iraq’s long-term stability.
These statements come at a time when the Iraqi government is seeking to attract new foreign investment. It is also focusing on improving the business environment and providing the necessary facilities for international companies, which will contribute to driving economic growth and strengthening the reconstruction process.
