Istanbul, Türkiye – Negotiations for the transfer of Egyptian Mohamed Salah to Turkish club Besiktas are still facing obstacles, as the two sides continue to disagree over a number of financial clauses related to completing the deal.
The Turkish newspaper Sabah reported that Ramy Abbas, Mohamed Salah’s agent, set several conditions during the negotiations, which Besiktas officials considered too high, leading to a slowdown in talks between the two sides.
The newspaper explained that Abbas initially demanded a commission of 7.5 million euros, before later reducing it to 5 million euros, in addition to requesting a large financial compensation related to the player’s commercial image rights.
She added that Salah’s agent also stipulated receiving approximately 50% of the proceeds from the sale of products bearing the player’s name within Türkiye, including official jerseys.
She noted that his demands also included keeping all profits from the sale of Mohamed Salah’s shirts outside of Türkiye, as well as obtaining the proceeds from the sale of the shirts within the Egyptian market, as they represent a large financial value.
Besiktas’ football director had previously confirmed that negotiations with Mohamed Salah had stalled due to the financial demands of the player’s agent, despite the Turkish club’s continued interest in completing the deal.
Mohamed Salah has not yet decided on his next destination, after ending his time with Liverpool at the end of last season, amid interest from clubs in the Turkish and Saudi leagues, as well as the American league.
