Munich, Germany – Bayern Munich has revealed details of the injury suffered by its goalkeeper and team captain Manuel Neuer during the Bundesliga match against Cologne.
Neuer started in the match between Bayern Munich and Cologne in the 34th round of the Bundesliga, which the Bavarian team won 5-1, before leaving the field in the 60th minute due to injury.
Bayern Munich explained in an official statement that the medical examinations that the German goalkeeper underwent revealed that he is suffering from a muscle injury in his left calf, which will force him to stay away from participating with the team during the coming period.
The club said in its statement: “Manuel Neuer will have to take a temporary break due to muscle problems in his left calf, according to tests carried out by the club’s medical staff”.
He added: “The team captain was substituted in the 60th minute of the Bundesliga match against Cologne after sustaining an injury”.
