Washington, United States — US President Donald Trump affirmed that the naval blockade imposed on Iran remains active with “full force and effect.” Consequently, Trump emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz remains open and fully operational despite ongoing security tensions in the Gulf region. Furthermore, the administration aims to distinguish between targeted economic pressure on Tehran and maintaining open international commercial transit.

Maritime Blockade and Pressure Strategy

The US President clarified that enforcement measures against Iran have not ceased, reiterating that maritime restrictions remain fully operational. Additionally, these statements reflect Washington’s ongoing strategy to apply maximum pressure on Tehran across strategic waterways without disrupting global trade corridors.

The defense apparatus maintains a high level of vigilance to safeguard maritime navigation and monitor naval activity in the region. Consequently, Trump’s remarks serve as a dual message of deterrence to Iranian authorities and reassurance to international shipping lines.

Strategic Importance of the Strait of Hormuz and Global Energy Markets

Trump emphasized that oil and gas shipments passing through the Strait of Hormuz continue without disruption, preserving normal operations across the vital maritime choke point. Additionally, global energy markets and importing nations continue to monitor regional developments closely, given the strait’s critical role in global oil transportation.
