Liverpool, England – Liverpool manager Arne Slott spoke about his team’s preparations for their match against Everton in the 33rd round of the English Premier League.

Slot praised the fighting spirit shown by his players during their Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain, emphasizing that the team delivered a strong performance despite the difficulty of the encounter.

He said during the press conference: “The players showed a high spirit against Paris Saint-Germain, and being the better side in such a match is not easy. Many of our players achieved outstanding physical figures, which reflects their readiness and strength”.

He added: “The Everton match will not be much different. The crowd atmosphere will not affect us. We have had similar experiences before, and I believe that the fans create the noise, not the stadium. But in the end, they will not decide the match; the players are the ones who do that”.

The Dutch coach addressed the issue of injuries to the attacking line, saying: “It’s good that we supported the team with two strikers, despite some people questioning it at the beginning, but now the decision seems logical, and perhaps we will need more attacking reinforcements in the future”.

Regarding the transfer market, he explained: “We have made a number of deals in the past period, and our net spending over four transfer windows has reached £150 million, which reflects the club’s ambitions”.

Slott also downplayed the impact of the European defeat on his team ahead of the Everton match, stating: “I don’t think the result against Paris Saint-Germain will affect us. It hasn’t happened in previous matches, especially at our stadium, where the fans play a crucial role in supporting the team”.

He concluded his remarks by talking about the team’s future, saying: “Our priority in the coming period is how to compensate for Mohamed Salah’s departure, whether by signing a similar player or in a different way. There is no intention to make major changes to the team’s roster, while monitoring the status of some players’ contracts”.
