Girona, Spain – Arsenal continued their positive results during the pre-season for the new 2026-2027 season, after defeating their Spanish hosts Girona 4-1 in the friendly match that brought them together on Saturday evening at the Montilivi Stadium.
Kai Havertz opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 17th minute, after taking advantage of a superb pass from young talent Max Daumann, giving his team an early lead.
New signing Christian Tzolis boosted the Gunners’ lead by scoring the second goal in the 30th minute, following a pass from Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori, ending the first half with the London team leading 2-0.
At the start of the second half, Arnau Martinez managed to reduce the deficit for the home side by scoring Girona’s only goal in the 50th minute.
Arsenal didn’t have to wait long to respond, with Max Daummann scoring the third goal in the 54th minute, capping off a superb performance with a goal that bore his mark. Brazilian Gabriel Jesus then completed the rout with the fourth goal in the 56th minute, confirming his team’s dominance and securing a resounding victory ahead of the new season.
