Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The eighth edition of the Vice President’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup kicked off today. The gym at the Shabab Al Ahli Club in Dubai was transformed into an arena brimming with excitement and enthusiasm. A large crowd attended, creating an exceptional atmosphere. The Vice President’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup is considered one of the major championships in the region.

The tournament saw unprecedented participation from clubs and academies across various categories: Cubs under 14, Juniors under 16, Youth under 18, and Adults. The rivalry was fierce from the start. Players were determined to secure qualification to the finals. They aimed to win valuable prizes.

Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, emphasized that the current edition of the Vice President’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup represents a milestone in the sport’s local history. He praised the excellent organization. It provided an ideal environment for raising the level of competition. Furthermore, it showcased promising talent.

Thani Majid bin Sulaiman, Director of Combat Sports at Shabab Al Ahli Club, emphasized that the tournament holds a special status. It brings together elite clubs and academies. The Vice President’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup reflects the club’s commitment to the vision of the wise leadership in supporting sports. It also focuses on creating champions.

Bruno Lima, Al Wahda’s coach, considered his team’s achievement last year in the senior category to double the challenge this season. He emphasized that the intensive preparations put the club in a strong position. They aim to compete for all titles. The Cup enhances local and international competition.
