The Czech Republic and South Africa played to a 1-1 draw in their second group stage match at the Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Czech team started the match strongly, and succeeded in opening the scoring early through Michal Sadilek in the sixth minute, after he broke through on goal and successfully shot the ball to the left of the South African goalkeeper, giving his team the advantage at the beginning of the match.
Mokoena snatches a draw
Despite the Czech Republic’s attempts to maintain their lead, South Africa managed to equalize in the 83rd minute through Teboho Mokoena’s penalty kick, bringing the game back to square one and keeping their hopes of advancing alive.
