Gaza, Palestine – The joy of Egypt’s qualification for the Round of 32 in the 2026 World Cup reached the Gaza Strip. There, several refugee camps witnessed spontaneous celebrations. Palestinians chanted slogans in support of Egypt and the Egyptian national team, reflecting the deep fraternal ties between the two peoples.

Videos circulating on social media showed gatherings inside the refugee camps chanting Egypt’s name, amidst applause and palpable joy. This occurred despite the dire humanitarian conditions faced by the residents of the Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing war and its harsh living conditions.

Participants in the celebrations said that the Pharaohs’ qualification brought them moments of joy and hope. They emphasized that the success of any Arab team is a source of pride and happiness for all Arab peoples, especially given the challenges facing the region.

The Egyptian national team enjoys widespread support within the Palestinian territories. Many Palestinians are keen to support them in various continental and international tournaments, recognizing them as one of the most prominent Arab and African teams on the world stage.

The Egyptian national team is preparing to compete in the Round of 32, with its fans hoping for continued success and positive results that will strengthen their presence in this edition of the World Cup. Meanwhile, scenes celebrating their qualification continue to circulate on social media platforms, sending a message that reflects the strong popular ties between Egypt and Palestine.
