Washington, DC – The US State Department announced that the United States will provide $100 million in immediate assistance to Lebanon to support humanitarian and relief efforts. This aid aims to assist the Lebanese people in addressing current economic and security challenges.

In a statement, the State Department confirmed that this package is a response to urgent needs within Lebanon. It noted that the funding will support humanitarian programs and provide basic necessities for the most vulnerable groups. Additionally, it will bolster stabilization efforts and the delivery of essential services.

The State Department explained that Washington continues to coordinate with the Lebanese government, international partners, and humanitarian organizations to ensure aid reaches those who need it as quickly as possible. At the same time, it emphasized the importance of transparency and oversight in the aid distribution mechanisms.

The State Department added that the United States will continue to stand with Lebanon during this critical time. It also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Lebanon’s security and stability and strengthening the capacity of its institutions to respond to crises. This aims to alleviate human suffering and support recovery efforts.

The US announcement comes at a time when Lebanon is facing increasing economic and humanitarian challenges. In the same vein, there are international and regional efforts underway to provide the necessary support and assistance to contribute to strengthening stability and meeting the urgent needs of the population.
