Cairo, Egypt – Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit met with the Indian Minister of External Affairs to discuss ways to strengthen partnership and cooperation between the two sides. This comes amidst rapidly evolving international circumstances and the need to build more cohesive regional blocs.
During the meeting, Aboul Gheit emphasized the importance of Arab-Indian relations. He noted that India is a pivotal partner in numerous fields, most notably the economy, energy, technology, and food security. He also stressed the importance of political cooperation in international forums.
For his part, the Indian Minister of External Affairs emphasized his country’s keenness to expand cooperation with the Arab world. He stated that India supports efforts toward stability and development and affirmed that partnership with Arab states is a cornerstone of Indian foreign policy.
The meeting also addressed regional and international developments. Furthermore, the importance of dialogue and the exchange of perspectives to confront shared challenges was underscored. This, in turn, strengthens mutual interests and supports stability in the region.
