Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of the Dubai Chambers, organized 276 bilateral working meetings between companies from Dubai and their counterparts in the Ghanaian capital, Accra. This came during the first leg of the Chamber-led trade mission to Ghana and Ethiopia under the “New Horizons for External Expansion” initiative. Aiming to support the expansion of local companies into promising global markets.
Representatives of 19 companies operating in Dubai in various sectors participated in the trade mission. Includes automobiles, building and construction materials, electronics, engineering, and fast-trading consumer goods. In addition to food and beverages, interior design, mining, oil and gas. In addition to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, printing and packaging, textiles and ready-made clothing.
Exploring promising investment opportunities
Salem Al Shamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, said: “We are keen to enhance the prospects for economic and trade cooperation between Dubai and the Republic of Ghana in a way that serves common development interests and supports the growth of sustainable business partnerships”. This trade mission contributes to opening new channels of communication and exploring promising investment opportunities for companies operating in Dubai to expand into the Ghanaian market. This enhances the competitiveness of the private sector in the emirate and supports the growth of Dubai’s non-oil foreign trade.
During the mission’s activities, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce organized the “Dubai – Ghana Business Forum” with the support of the UAE Embassy in the Republic of Ghana and the Consulate of the Republic of Ghana in the UAE. The National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Ghana, and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre. The forum attracted 532 participants. Among them are a group of senior officials, business leaders and representatives of local companies interested in exploring partnership and cooperation opportunities in Dubai.
Competitive advantages in Dubai
During the forum, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce gave a comprehensive introductory presentation that highlighted the diverse economic landscape of the Emirate of Dubai. He reviewed the most prominent competitive advantages that make it an ideal destination for companies and investors wishing to expand into new markets.
This was followed by a presentation by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, which focused on Ghana’s dynamic trade and investment environment. The importance of its strategic location as a pivotal center for the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region.
The value of non-oil trade between Dubai and Ghana reached AED 39.6 billion in 2025, recording an annual growth of 60.1%.
Dubai continued to attract more Ghanaian companies, with 16 new Ghanaian companies joining the Dubai Chamber of Commerce during the first quarter of this year. The total number of active Ghanaian companies registered as members of the Chamber reached 225 companies by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
