The UN envoy stressed that a just political settlement and a sustainable and comprehensive end to the conflict in Yemen can only be achieved through an inclusive political process. This process should include all parties. In this context, he emphasized the need for an immediate halt to the Houthi militia’s escalation. In addition, he urged a full commitment to protecting innocent civilians and vital civilian infrastructure.
