Gaza, Palestine – The director of the Peace Council revealed that the transition to the next phase in the Gaza Strip hinges on implementing
an equation based on the disarmament of Palestinian factions in exchange
for progress in the Israeli withdrawal from the Strip.
He explained that the issue of weapons is one of the most prominent topics in the new arrangements.
He also indicated that the Israeli withdrawal to beyond the Green Line is
contingent upon achieving progress in the disarmament process.
Furthermore, the withdrawal entails the elimination of military capabilities within the Strip.
Disarmament and the future administration of the Gaza Strip
According to the proposed plan, the disarmament process includes
both light and heavy weapons, as well as addressing the tunnels.
However, the process is supposed to be gradual and subject to international monitoring and oversight.
This comes amidst ongoing disagreements regarding the transition to the next phase of the Gaza
understandings,دparticularly concerning the timing of the Israeli withdrawal,

Conversely, Palestinian factions maintain that any future arrangements must
