Baghdad, Iraq – The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday that it had successfully dismantled a new criminal network involved in human trafficking and child trafficking, confirming that all its members had been referred to the competent judiciary to take the necessary legal measures against them in accordance with the law.
Details of the security operation and judicial coordination
The Ministry stated in an official statement that the Anti-Human Trafficking Directorate, in joint coordination with the First Karkh Investigation Court, was able to apprehend and completely dismantle the network after intensive intelligence efforts and meticulous field surveillance, which resulted in the arrest of its members and the completion of all necessary legal procedures against them. The Ministry explained that this successful operation was carried out under the direct guidance of the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Hussein Al-Awadi, and with the supervision and field monitoring of the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Intelligence and Federal Investigations Affairs.
Campaigns to pursue organized crime networks continue
In the same context, the Ministry of Interior emphasized its determination to continue its security campaigns and its ongoing intensive efforts to pursue and dismantle all human trafficking and child trafficking networks. The Ministry affirmed that security forces will not tolerate these criminal cells that target vulnerable groups, noting that all those arrested have been referred to the judiciary to complete investigations and legal proceedings against them so they may receive their just punishment.
