Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Financial Market closed its first session of the week on Monday, up 0.987%, or 57.1 points. At 5,844.07 points, supported by a near-collective rise in sector stocks. Foremost among them are real estate and banks, in addition to the successive disclosure by listed companies of strong business results for the first half of this year.
Dubai Financial’s market capitalization rose to AED 967.12 billion at the end of the session. Compared to about 959.41 billion dirhams at the end of trading last Friday, with gains amounting to about 7.71 billion dirhams.
The market performance was supported by near-collective growth in sector stocks, led by real estate at 1.86%, banks at 0.99%, industry at 0.4%, and telecommunications at 1.5%. Public utilities at 0.42%, and basic consumer goods and luxury consumer goods at 2.39% and 0.84%, respectively.
Attracting liquidity
The shares listed on the market attracted liquidity exceeding 459.35 million dirhams, after trading in about 148.22 million shares. 13,898 deals were executed.
It acquired shares of six companies listed on Dubai Financial: Emaar Properties, Emirates NBD, and Dubai Islamic Bank. “Emaar Development”, “Talat” and “Emirates Integrated Telecommunications – DO” received 68.71% of the market’s liquidity at the end of trading yesterday.
According to market data, the total trading value of the six shares amounted to approximately AED 315.95 million. While the total trading value in the Dubai Financial Market as a whole amounted to 459.35 million dirhams.
Emaar shares top the list
Emaar Properties shares topped the market activity in terms of liquidity by about 171.81 million dirhams, at 11.3 dirhams, up 1.98%.
Emirates NBD Bank shares came second, with a trading value of AED 43.4 million, at AED 30.38. While Dubai Islamic Bank shares came in third with trading amounting to 27.1 million dirhams at 7.5 dirhams per share.
Emaar Development shares came fourth in terms of liquidity, at about AED 26.82 million at AED 13.46, up 2.28%. While Talabat shares came in fifth place with a trading value of 23.75 million dirhams, at 1.11 dirhams. “Do” shares came in sixth place with trading amounting to AED 22.71 million at AED 12.2 per share.
