Beirut, Lebanon – The Lebanese Army on Monday urged citizens to refrain from traveling to the southern town of Zawtar al-Gharbiya for safety reasons, confirming ongoing operational coordination to deploy troops immediately following the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the area.
Precautionary Directives to Ensure Civilian Safety
Lebanese military authorities called on residents to temporarily avoid entering Zawtar al-Gharbiya until armed forces finalize essential field inspections and security sweeps. The army highlighted that these precautionary directives are designed to safeguard civilians during the transitional phase of troop repositioning.
Operational Readiness and Southern Deployment
The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) emphasized full operational readiness to assume security responsibilities in Zawtar al-Gharbiya in close alignment with the designated coordination group once the Israeli pullback is complete. Furthermore, military units continue executing essential security tasks across neighboring southern localities, including Froun and Srifa, to reinforce border stability.
