Kyiv, Ukraine – The Ukrainian General Staff announced that it had carried out a series of overnight strikes targeting four oil facilities inside Russian territory.
This comes as part of Kyiv’s ongoing attacks on Russian energy infrastructure.
The war between the two countries continues.
Targeting two refineries and two oil facilities
The General Staff said in a statement on Telegram that Ukrainian forces shelled the Ilsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar region.
The shelling also targeted the Ust-Luga oil refinery complex in the Leningrad region.
It added that the strikes also hit an oil terminal and an oil storage depot in the Rostov region.
However, the General Staff did not provide details on the extent of the damage or casualties resulting from the attacks.
Continued targeting of the energy sector
These strikes are part of a Ukrainian strategy targeting energy and fuel facilities inside Russia.
This strategy aims to disrupt the logistical and supply capabilities associated with Russian military operations.
In recent months, Kyiv has intensified its long-range attacks using drones and missiles.
These attacks have targeted oil refineries, fuel depots, and critical infrastructure in several Russian regions.
Escalation of mutual operations
The strikes coincide with the continuation of military operations between the two sides.
The fighting fronts are witnessing a continuous escalation,
along with attacks targeting the heartland of both Russia and Ukraine.
Russian authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the attacks announced by Kyiv.
Meanwhile, the war continues to enter a phase characterized
by the expanding targeting of vital facilities and infrastructure on both sides.
This is occurring amidst a lack of any indication of an imminent political settlement to the conflict.
