Beirut, Lebanon – Lebanese President Joseph Aoun affirmed that he has chosen to pursue the path of negotiation despite what he described as the difficult and complex phase.
He also indicated that the decision was made in light of the existing balance of power,
Israeli calculations, and the complexities associated with Iranian-American relations.
Nevertheless, he emphasized that Lebanon will not back down from this choice.

The Lebanese president stated that he would not back down from the decision to negotiate.
He also affirmed his commitment to continuing to explain the importance of this path to the public.
Furthermore, he emphasized Lebanon’s unwavering commitment
to its sovereignty throughout all stages of the negotiation process.
He clarified that negotiations represent an option aimed at protecting national
interests and restoring rights through diplomatic means.
Framework Agreement and Restoration of Rights
The president added that the framework agreement would restore Lebanon’s rights through diplomatic channels.
This is contingent upon Israel’s adherence to all the agreement’s provisions
and the successful implementation of its mechanisms on the ground.
He noted that the agreement’s success depends on the fulfillment of mutual obligations.
Only then will its objectives be guaranteed.
