Rome, Italy – Trends Global, a subsidiary of Trends Group, signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation with the Italian Milton Friedman Institute. On the sidelines of a high-level scientific symposium organized by Trends in cooperation with the Institute, in the Italian capital, Rome.
The memorandum aims to enhance research cooperation between the two sides and launch joint initiatives in the fields of strategic studies. Combating extremist thought, promoting intellectual dialogue, and supporting the production of knowledge based on sound scientific research. In a way that contributes to serving decision-makers and consolidating the values of moderation and tolerance.
The Italian Parliament’s choice to host the symposium and sign the agreement reflects the international standing of the two parties’ efforts to build cross-border knowledge partnerships. It contributes to spreading the values of tolerance, promoting strategic studies, and providing scientific and forward-looking readings of current issues.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, Chairman of Trends Group. Alessandro Bertoldi, Executive Director of the Milton Friedman Institute. Along with principal investigator Awad Al-Buraiki, Director General of Trends Global, and Professor Dario Peroni, Director General of the Institute.
Awad Al-Buraiki stressed that signing the memorandum of understanding with the Milton Friedman Institute from within the Italian Parliament gives this partnership an important strategic dimension. Pointing out that confronting contemporary intellectual challenges, especially extremist discourses, requires international cooperation based on scientific research and institutional partnerships. He expressed his hope that this partnership would result in solid knowledge production that would provide decision-makers with scientific insights that would contribute to supporting stability and intellectual development at the international level.
For its part, the Italian side praised this step, which represents the beginning of a new phase of cooperation and knowledge exchange between research institutions in the two countries.
