London, United Kingdom – Prince Harry is set to visit London and Birmingham this week. He will participate in a number of charity events and promotional activities related to the 2027 Invictus Games.
His wife Meghan and their two children will not be making the trip after their travel plans to the UK were cancelled.
Cancel family visit
A spokesperson for Prince Harry said that Meghan and their two children,
Prince Archie and Princess Lilybet, would not be accompanying him on his visit to London.
However, they have not been ruled out visiting other parts of the UK at a later date.
The family had been expected to travel with Prince Harry, but these plans were changed shortly before the visit.
Charity events in London and Birmingham
Prince Harry, the younger son of King Charles, is scheduled to participate in a series of charitable activities
and promotional events related to the 2027 Invictus Games.
These Games are one of the flagship initiatives he founded to support wounded
and injured service members and veterans.
The visit includes meetings and events aimed at bolstering preparations
for hosting the next edition of the Games.
Reports link the decision to security protection
The British newspaper The Telegraph reported that Meghan and her children’s decision not to travel came
after a request for police protection during their visit to London was denied.
There has been no official comment confirming this account.
However, Prince Harry spokesperson simply announced the cancellation of his family’s trip,
without providing further details about the reasons for the decision.
