Morocco eliminates Canada with a hat trick and reaches the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup (video)

Houston, USA – The Moroccan national team secured its place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, after achieving a well-deserved victory over its Canadian counterpart with a score of 3-0, in the match that took place on Saturday evening, as part of the round of 16 competitions.

The NRG Stadium hosted the match in which the “Atlas Lions” imposed their control, securing their qualification for the next round.

Azzedine Ounahi opened the scoring in the 50th minute, after taking advantage of a perfect ground pass from Achraf Hakimi, to powerfully shoot the ball into the net.

Ounahi doubled the score in the 82nd minute, scoring his second personal goal and the second for the Moroccan national team, following a pass from Ibrahim Diaz inside the penalty area, which he met with a direct shot that found the back of the net.
