Cairo, Egypt – The Egyptian capital, Cairo, is set to host the 8th Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils this coming Saturday. Held at the Arab League General Secretariat headquarters, the high-level meeting will see the participation of Arab parliamentary leaders, aiming to coordinate Arab positions on critical regional issues.
The conference seeks to solidify joint Arab parliamentary action and unify efforts to address the rapidly evolving challenges facing the region, ensuring a unified Arab stance that strengthens the presence of Arab nations on the international stage.
Arab National Security as a Top Priority
The conference will discuss ways to enhance the role of Arab parliamentarians in protecting Arab national security. This file stands as a top priority given the security challenges and instability facing several Arab countries currently. Participants aim to unify parliamentary visions regarding strategic issues, contributing to regional stability and the protection of Arab peoples’ gains.
Supporting the Palestinian Cause and Confronting Violations
The agenda includes discussing mechanisms to develop Arab parliamentary action to counter attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause and address ongoing violations against the Palestinian people. Speakers of parliament will discuss ways to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, primarily the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, through coordinated Arab efforts at both regional and international levels.
Digital Sovereignty and Sustainable Development
With a forward-looking vision, the conference places special emphasis on “Arab Digital Sovereignty” as a strategic file linked to the future of development in the region.
