Washington, DC – US President Donald Trump said the United States could take military action against Iran for up to two weeks. He indicated that “all targets” could be struck if the decision is made.
In remarks reported by US media, Trump added that Washington is closely monitoring Iranian enriched uranium sites,
including those believed to be buried under rubble.
He asserted that these sites would be dealt with and “blown up” if approached.
Monitoring Iran’s nuclear program
The US president explained that his country continues to closely monitor the Iranian nuclear program,
amid concerns about the reactivation or transfer of enriched materials to other sites.
He indicated that this issue represents a security priority for the United States,
especially given the escalating tensions in the region.
Trump stated that Iran has suffered a defeat, as he put it, which includes its military and defenses.
He noted that its military capabilities have been under significant pressure recently.
Escalation in American rhetoric
He added that, according to his administration’s estimates,
Iran will need many years to rebuild its damaged or destroyed military and nuclear facilities.
These statements come amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran,
and the continued exchange of threats and strikes in multiple regional arenas.
The Iranian issue is considered one of the most sensitive files in US foreign policy.
Meanwhile, diplomatic and military efforts continue to contain the escalation and prevent a wider confrontation.
