Washington, DC – A US State Department official said that a new round of talks between Lebanon and Israel will be held next Thursday and Friday. This round is part of a US-sponsored negotiation process aimed at addressing a number of bilateral issues.
Previous rounds sponsored by the US
Washington hosted two rounds of talks last month between Lebanese and Israeli delegations. These talks were part of US efforts to support dialogue between the two sides on security and political issues.
The Lebanese delegation scheduled to participate in the new round of negotiations includes former Lebanese Ambassador to the United States Simon Karam, current Ambassador Nada Hamadeh-Moawad, Deputy Chief of Mission Wissam Boutros, and the military attaché at the Lebanese Embassy in Washington.
Continuation of the negotiation process
This round of talks is a continuation of the process initiated under US auspices in recent months. There is anticipation surrounding the outcome of the discussions and their potential to achieve progress on the issues under consideration by both sides.
