Kuwait – The State of Kuwait strongly condemned the attack targeting a UAE tanker as it transited the Strait of Hormuz.
It considered the incident a direct threat to maritime security and the stability of international waterways.
Condemnation of the attack and the threat to navigation
The Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that targeting the tanker
with drones constitutes a hostile act and a clear violation of international law.
Furthermore, it poses a threat to the safety of commercial vessels and maritime traffic.
The Ministry stressed that such attacks represent an unacceptable escalation
that undermines regional security and global supply lines.
The Ministry clarified that targeting commercial vessels is
a blatant violation of Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2817.
It also deemed it a clear violation of the principle of freedom of navigation in international waterways.
Full solidarity with the UAE
Kuwait also warned of the repercussions of these practices on the stability of global trade and energy security.
Kuwait reiterated its full support for the United Arab Emirates and its backing
for all measures taken by the UAE to protect its security and interests.
Kuwait called for an immediate end to these attacks and for ensuring
freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and all other maritime waterways.
Furthermore, it stressed the need to refrain from using these waterways as a tool for pressure or blackmail.
