Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, affirmed that the Iranian attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates constitute a serious act of aggression.
Furthermore, they represent a blatant escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region.
Strong Gulf condemnation
In an official statement, the Secretary-General stressed that these attacks constitute
a flagrant violation of international law and the principles of good neighborliness.
He noted that they represent a direct threat to the security of the Gulf states,
the safety of international navigation, and global energy security.
He also expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of these attacks,
affirming the Gulf Cooperation Council’s rejection of any hostile acts
targeting member states or infringing upon their sovereignty and security.
He called for the necessity of respecting international laws and conventions.
Full solidarity with the UAE
The Secretary-General affirmed the GCC’s full solidarity with the UAE
and its complete support for all measures taken to preserve its security and stability.
He emphasized that the security of the GCC states is indivisible.
He also called on the international community to take a firm and deterrent stance against these violations,
contributing to de-escalation and ensuring the protection of civilians and vital infrastructure.
This would also help maintain regional stability and prevent the further escalation of regional tensions.
