New Delhi, India – Nine people were killed and others injured today in a powerful explosion at a pharmaceutical factory. The incident caused panic among workers in the surrounding industrial area.

Local authorities in India reported that the explosion occurred inside a production unit at the factory during working hours.

This resulted in a large fire and thick plumes of smoke.

Firefighters worked tirelessly to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to the rest of the facility.

Technical malfunction

The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Meanwhile, authorities have launched an urgent investigation to determine the cause of the accident

and whether it resulted from a technical malfunction or a safety procedure error at the factory.

Indian authorities confirmed that inspections are ongoing at the site of the explosion.

The final death toll and the identities of the victims have not yet been officially released.
