Tehran, Iran – An informed source within the intelligence apparatus of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in North Khorasan province reported an arrest. Security forces have arrested two agents recruited by the Israeli Mossad.
The source told the Iranian news agency Tasnim that the two detainees were acting as “leaders of a Mossad intelligence unit.” He accused them of participating in “organizing widespread unrest and violence.”
Foiling intelligence operations
The same source added that security forces found “communication and espionage equipment, weapons, and large quantities of ammunition” in the possession of those arrested. This information was according to published statements.
This announcement comes as part of a series of periodic Iranian reports.
These reports focus on thwarting foreign intelligence operations. They also focus on arresting individuals accused of collaborating with international intelligence agencies, particularly the Israeli Mossad.
