Moscow, Russia – Moscow strongly condemned the US military strikes targeting sites inside Venezuela, considering these operations to be a dangerous and unjustified escalation, and a clear violation of state sovereignty and the principles of international law.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that resorting to military force outside of legal frameworks threatens to ignite widespread regional tensions and undermines any political efforts to resolve the Venezuelan crisis, warning that continuing this approach could push the region into a state of long-term instability.
Moscow stressed that the Venezuelan people would be the biggest losers from these actions, given the deteriorating economic and social conditions already suffering from a severe shortage of basic materials and vital services, emphasizing the need to immediately stop military operations, respect Venezuela’s sovereignty, and open the way for diplomatic solutions that protect the region’s security and spare civilians further suffering.
