Sanaa, Yemen – Hadramawt Governorate witnessed a series of field and security developments,

amid moves by local authorities to contain the tension and maintain stability,

under widespread anticipation from the population.

According to reliable local sources, the tension began in the early morning hours

in some areas of the city of Mukalla.

Limited groups protested against service and administrative conditions,

before security forces intervened to control the situation and prevent any slide into chaos.

Security forces have reinforced their deployment around vital institutions,

including government headquarters, main roads,

and the perimeter of the port of Mukalla.

This is in order to protect public facilities and prevent any attempts

to exploit the situation by entities hostile to the state.

Strengthening civil peace

The sources confirmed that the forces’ conduct was “disciplined”

and based on clear instructions to avoid contact except in necessary cases.

In light of these developments, President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi,

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council,

A telephone call was made to the governor of Hadhramaut

and head of the security committee,

Salem Al-Khanbashi, to follow up on the details of the situation moment by moment.

During the call, His Excellency listened to a comprehensive report on the measures taken.

The local authority is taking steps to open channels of communication

with tribal leaders and community leaders to ensure calm and contain the causes of tension.

The governor confirmed that joint efforts between security agencies

and social components resulted in restoring calm to most areas.

Meanwhile, meetings continue with influential figures in society

to promote civil peace and prevent any new escalation.

Hadhramaut will remain a fundamental pillar

For his part, President Al-Alimi stressed the state’s full support

for the local authority in Hadramawt to carry out its duties.

Defending the public interest and thwarting attempts by the Houthi militias

and extremist organizations to exploit any internal unrest.

He also affirmed that Hadhramaut will remain

a fundamental pillar of stability and development.

He called on all forces to unite, respect the prestige of the state,

and prioritize dialogue in the face of challenges.

By evening, life gradually returned to normal.

This comes amid expectations that official meetings

will continue to ensure calm is maintained in the coming days.
