Washington, United States – Global superstar Ariana Grande has taken a new legal step to protect her unreleased music, following repeated leaks of several of her songs and private materials over the past few years.
Authority to act urgently
Grande filed a petition in a U.S. court seeking authorization to issue subpoenas to various online platforms and third parties, aiming to obtain records and data that could assist her legal team in identifying the individuals accused of hacking, stealing, and leaking her unreleased work.
The court granted the singer authorization to take urgent action to obtain this information, as part of the lawsuit in which she seeks to uncover the identities of those involved in the leaks.
Repeated leaks of works that have not been officially released.
According to reports, the leaking of Grande’s work dates back several years and involved music, photos, and videos that were not intended for release; unidentified individuals are accused of stealing this material, posting it online, and generating financial profit from it.
Through the new legal measures, Grandi hopes to access account data and electronic records that could lead to identifying those responsible for these operations.
Ariana Grande and her Twitter account
Ariana Grande deactivated her official Twitter account in December 2021—without announcing a specific reason at the time—while continuing her activity on Instagram. *People* magazine noted then that the decision was made without any official explanation from her. During that same period, Grande appeared in the film *Don’t Look Up* alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence; she also performed the song “Just Look Up” for the movie with artist Kid Cudi, with the track officially released in December.
